Love in the Years of Executions
عشق در سالهای اعدام
Love in the Years of Executions is the first volume of the story continued in Gelare. Gela and Kamel find love across social divides, while the revolution in Iran changes the conditions of their lives. The relationship between private experience and political history is central: what happens to love and family when fear, power, and violence enter everyday life?
The novel’s themes include class divisions, Kurdish life, loss, and memory. Its story invites a reading of how major historical events are felt in small, private choices. Readers interested in literature about Iran, political history, and love under difficult circumstances can approach the book through these questions. This is a novel, and its account should be read as a work of literature.
